Easy Alaska Salmon Spread
Salmon spread is a staple of any Alaska get together; create your own Alaska salmon spread platter with this simple recipe adapted from recipe courtesy of Carlene Thomas.

Ingredients

  • Spread

  • 14.75 ounces (1 can) Alaska canned Pink or Red (Sockeye) salmon, drained
  • 6 ounces plain or Greek yogurt (or 8 ounces cream cheese, softened)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Toppings

  • 2 tablespoons cup chives, dill or other herb, minced or dried
  • Minced or thinly sliced celery, onions, carrots or other fresh vegetable
  • Pickles or pickle relish, optional

Instructions

  1. Step 1 Make the salmon spread

    Add salmon, yogurt (or cream cheese), lemon juice, minced onions and pepper to a bowl.  Mix until fully combined; can also blend in a food processor.

    Refrigerate until ready to serve

  2. Step 2 Assemble spread and serve

    To compile, add spread to a bowl or a plate. Add pickles, pickle relish, chives, or herbs on top.

    Serve as a dip with veggies like celery sticks, carrot sticks or green pepper strips for dipping or spread on bread, crackers or tortillas.
