Alaska Seafood Partner, Holland America Line, to be Featured in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®
ASMI is thrilled to see long-time partner Holland America Line spotlighting Alaska, including Alaska seafood, on one of the nation’s biggest stages this holiday season. ASMI has collaborated with Holland America for several years to elevate the story of sustainable Alaska seafood within the tourism and culinary industries — efforts that have helped lead to many exciting outcomes. We continue to stay in contact and provide support where possible as the partnership grows.
Holland America will feature Alaska — including Alaska seafood — on its float in the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® this November. The float will highlight the premium cruise line’s commitment to serving only sustainable Alaska seafood.
News of the float is generating buzz around Alaska seafood ahead of the holiday season – with placements in Alaska Public Media, Undercurrent News, and Alaska’s News Source.
Holland America first partnered with ASMI in 2022 to highlight its leadership and commitment to sustainably sourced seafood, becoming the first cruise line certified sustainable for Alaska seafood by Certified Seafood International.
In 2024, Holland America’s dining and galley team members were certified for their understanding of seafood species, responsible fishing practices, and health benefits via ASMI’s Seafood U educational course.
ASMI values this partnership and has plans for continued collaboration with Holland America to further elevate Alaska seafood within the tourism industry.
Holland America’s Alaska float can be seen in the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade when it airs on NBC on Thursday, Nov. 27 from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. in all time zones.
