Urk Delegation Reception

The ASMI International team is hosting a delegation of seafood trade members from Urk, Netherlands in Seattle, WA on September 20, 2024. This is a great opportunity to connect with buyers and other seafood trade members from the region. The primary interests of the delegation are flatfish and Alaska pollock.

At the moment the fish-sector in Urk processes 350.000-400.000 tons of fish annually, with opportunity for increased capacity in the coming years, as Urk is developing 250 acres of new business development area (‘Port of Urk’) including a new port. The new development is ‘earmarked’ for fish processing and maritime business. This will enable the sector for further growth of its seafood business and processing capacity.
