Chef competitions are a good channel to promote Alaska seafood products in the HRI industry. This year, ASMI China will use an online platform to hold such an event in collaboration with Yum Gather Cuisine Fashion, a media company specialized in food and beverage industry. The advantage of the online chef competition is that it could involve more chefs without the limit of region. Over 70 chefs from local high-end hotels and restaurants will be chosen to participate in the chef competition, which will be scheduled to last one month starting from May 25 through June 19. Each chef contestant will be required to create two recipes featuring two varieties of Alaska seafood including yellowfin sole and Pacific cod. All the dishes developed by the contestants will be posted on the website of Yum Gather Cuisine Fashion wechat and website and all the followers will have the chance to vote. A panel of judges will be organized for the competition. 6 winners will be crowned 1 first prize, 2 second prize, 3 third prize with cash bonus. All the contestants will be given a certificate with an award. An award ceremony will take place on June 28, 2016.
