Alaska is home to some of the most prized species of sole including: Dover, Rex, Rock, Flathead, Yellowfin, Arrowtooth Flounder,  and Alaska Plaice

The term “sole” is sometimes used interchangeably with “flounder”. There is a wide variance in size between species, ranging up to 18 to 24 inches.
