Use of the Certification Seal
In response to customer requests, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute has made a certification seal available for those who satisfy the Chain of Custody requirements, and would like to demonstrate traceability and make a certification claim. There is no logo licensing fee for using this seal.
How to Know Which Seal to Use
Below is a visual demonstration of the differences between the Alaska RFM Certification Seal vs. the Alaska Seafood origin identifier
The Alaska RFM Certification Seal is a trademark owned by the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) and is only released to organizations or individuals that have completed the Chain of Custody audit process and have a written agreement with ASMI. Unauthorized use is prohibited and will be treated as a trademark breach.
The purpose of the certification seal is to guarantee buyers and consumers of Alaska seafood products that the products originate from certified responsible fisheries.
Alaska RFM Chain of Custody Certification Stakeholders that have obtained the Alaska Chain of Custody Certification can apply to ASMI for the right to use the certification seal or statement for marketing purposes.
