What is an RSS feed?

An RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows a reader to create a collection of updated information sources. These sources usually appear as a linked headline that will take the reader to specific video, audio or story. In order to receive an RSS feed, some kind of RSS reader is required. An RSS reader is simply an application that can parse an RSS feed for output. Some browsers (such as Firefox) are equipped with the ability to display an RSS feed. However, there are several user-friendly RSS readers available for free download.

Why should I be interested in an RSS feed?

The advantage of receiving an RSS feed lies in both diversity and organization. An RSS reader allows you to organize all of the headlines from multiple news organizations into one application, saving you the time of going to each website separately. It's the easiest way to get all your favorite videos, audio, information and recipes right away.
