Frozen Seafood Retail Sales Are Warming Up
Consumers across the country are seeing an increase in branded and private label products in the frozen seafood category and retailers are seeing sales on the increase as a new consumer group following emerges. According to Refrigerated and Frozen Foods June 2005 State of the Industry Report, the retail seafood category has undergone a makeover of massive proportions during the past few years, with many new products sporting savory sauces or other gourmet ingredients.

Consumer Advertising Update
The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) continues to encourage consumers to "Ask for Alaska" in-store via a consumer advertising campaign. We are pleased to announce the upcoming fall media schedule.

Salmon
A two-page Alaska Salmon Sticker insert can be found in the October, November, and February issues of Bon Appétit. The ad will be featured in Bon Appétit on a regional basis in the following areas: Pacific, Mid-Atlantic, Eastern North Central and Mountain regions. The ad will also be featured in the October, December and February issues of Sunset in the Pacific region. The October and November issues of Cooking Light will include the ad in the Pacific and Mid-Atlantic regions.

The ad encourages consumers to put wild Alaska Salmon on their list by peeling off the removable salmon stickers and applying them to their shopping lists. The removable stickers reveal fun facts and key points of differentiation for Alaska Salmon. The back of the ad includes a recipe. The combined circulation for these publications is approximately 4 million.

Additionally, an Alaska Seafood bookmark insert will be included in the November, December and January issues of the Alaska Airlines in-flight magazine. This ad insert promotes the superior quality of Wild Alaska Salmon. It also emphasizes that it is easy to eat year-round by using COOK IT FROZEN! methodology. Cod & Pollock
Look for an Alaska Cod & Pollock advertisement on a national level in the November, December and February issues of Cooking Light. The ad will also be featured in the November issue of Sunset in the Northern California region and in the February issue of Southern Living in Texas. The combined circulation for the Alaska Cod & Pollock ad is approximately 6 million.

Alaska King Crab
In the December issue of Bon Appétit, ASMI will feature a national ad and advertorial encouraging consumers to ask for Alaska King Crab at supermarkets and restaurants this holiday season in addition to year-round efforts. Total circulation: 1.3 million.
