April 23 , 2009 Edition Times Square Sighting: Wild Alaska Fish Alaska Seafood is starring off Broadway for an impressive 77 day run. Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is launching an “Alaska Seafood—Wild, Natural & Sustainable” billboard spot in New York’s highly sought after and largest advertising neighborhood-Times Square. The five-second Alaska Seafood commercial features brilliant wild Alaska salmon swimming up stream. The Alaska Seafood logo and accompanying “Wild, Natural & Sustainable” tagline, dynamically superimposed over the video footage, is showcased on the CBS “Super Screen” which is positioned on 42nd Street between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue, right across from Port Authority bus station, the busiest in the nation. “Key attributes of Alaska Seafood are that it is wild, natural and sustainable,” explains Ray Riutta, ASMI Executive Director. “In Times Square we will be reaching a wide audience with these central messages.” The “Super Screen” is 26 ft. by 20 ft. for an impressive total of 520 square feet. The screen is full motion and in full color. The Alaska Seafood ad will run fifteen seconds per hour, in three 5 second time periods, for 18 hours a day. This equates to 4,158 five second spots over the 77 day period. The Alaska seafood commercial is expected to generate 1,500,000 impressions daily, and not just on New Yorkers.
