Alaska Seafood in Boston

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute had a large aisle-end booth to display literature, show off the new tools on the website (including Seafood U online training and a new sustainable seafood section), display various species of seafood and meet with prospective partners. Traffic was brisk as ASMI staff and field representatives met with current and future promotional partners and representatives of the media, while distributing a printed Directory of Alaska Seafood Suppliers, and directing interested buyers to the Alaska suppliers exhibiting at the show.

The International Boston Seafood Show and the European Seafood Exposition (in April) are two of the most important trade shows for the Alaska seafood industry, and they are annual events. This year ASMI exhibits have a new sustainability center component, where banners (see below), information kits, and web site pages educate our customers about why seafood from Alaska is sustainable. Customers are more interested than ever before in environmentally friendly purchasing, and ASMI’s new brochure, wallet card, fact sheets and comparison charts help them appreciate how Alaska Seafood will help them meet that challenge with a wide array of wild-caught products.
