FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Alaska Seafood "Catch The Wild" Educational Video Now Available Free-of-Charge to Operators JUNEAU, AK (October 24, 2001) In an effort to continue building awareness for Alaska Seafood, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) recently produced and released a 20-minute, educational video for foodservice operators. The video offers a synopsis about the various seafood species found in the icy, cold waters of Alaska, an overview about harvesting methods for each species, and also addresses the concerted effort on behalf of the state of Alaska to preserve its wilderness and create sustainable fisheries. The video is available to foodservice operators free-of-charge by calling ASMI's toll-free number 800-806-2497. "We believe the "Catch the Wild" video will help the food industry better understand the steps taken to ensure that Alaska's fisheries are well managed and sustainable. It also provides a brief description and visual for operators about the various harvesting methods and processing techniques that Alaska uses. From experience, we know how and why Alaska Seafood is more flavorful and natural, but not everyone has had the opportunity to experience it firsthand. Therefore, this video is another way for us to share the Alaska Seafood story," said Claudia Hogue, Foodservice Marketing Director for ASMI. -30- |
