ClubCorp Clubs Participate in 2002 Alaska Wild Seafood & California Fine Wines Promotion

JUNEAU, AK (September 6, 2002) From September 25 - October 5, 2002, ClubCorp will kick off its second annual Alaska Seafood promotion.

From Seattle, WA to Miami, FL and continuing up the eastern seaboard, approximately 120 of ClubCorp's 200 Clubs will be participating in the Alaska Wild Seafood and California Fine Wines promotion. The promotion was developed by ClubCorp and the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) as a means to continue educating chefs and their patrons about Alaska seafood and California wines. Alaska salmon, halibut, cod, king crab, scallops and rockfish will be paired with the many fine wines from California and menued at the 120 clubs through October 5, 2002.

As the owner and operator of 200 golf courses, country clubs, private business and sports clubs, and resorts, one of ClubCorp's primary goals is to ensure an unparalleled private club experience for every member and every guest. "The development of a second annual Alaska seafood and California wines promotion is due to the successes we experienced during the first year. The benefits of serving wild, sustainable Alaska Seafood, along with its all-natural, superior flavor, makes it a win/win solution for the families harvesting the seafood to the ClubCorp chefs who will be preparing the many delectable seafood dishes," said Henry Wenzel, Director of Club Operations.

"We're very excited to be hosting the second annual seafood promotion with this prestigious company. The pairing of Alaska seafood and California wines is a natural fit and the chefs working with Alaska seafood are certain to appreciate the seafood's versatility," said Claudia Hogue, Marketing Director for ASMI.

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is the State of Alaska's official seafood marketing arm. It is a public agency of the State of Alaska, funded by the Alaska seafood industry and federal grants. ASMI promotes Alaska seafood throughout the U.S. and in 17 other countries. ASMI also provides education and training to the seafood industry in food safety and quality assurance practices.
