Recipe Conversion Calculator & Seafood Availability Chart Now Available to Foodservice Operators

JUNEAU, AK (February 11, 2002) To aid chefs in converting recipes, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) has created an 8 ¼" x 3" slide chart that features a recipe conversion calculator as well as an Alaska Seafood availability chart on the reverse side.

The recipe conversion calculator is a quick guide for chefs to reference when determining how to halve a recipe, double a recipe or multiply a recipe by five. The Alaska Seafood availability chart on the opposite side will let chefs know what Alaska Seafood species is in season.

"One of the primary objectives of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute is to educate the food industry about Alaska Seafood and to provide executives with the necessary tools to make their purchasing and menu development responsibilities easier. This slide chart fulfills the requests we've heard for a simple reference tool," said Claudia Hogue, Marketing Director for ASMI.
