The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) launched a consumer television advertising campaign on The Food Network beginning September 25, 2006. The campaign is designed to promote wild and abundant Alaska Seafood and prompt consumers to "Ask for Alaska" the next time they visit their favorite restaurants and grocery stores. ASMI is reaching out to foodservice and retail customers like never before and has contracted with television/movie actor and comedian, Ben Stein, to deliver its sustainable message and promote the benefits of wild Alaska Seafood. P.F. Chang's Latest Japanese Restaurant Incarnation - Taneko Japanese Tavern - Debuts Wild Alaska Seafood on its "Signature Dishes" Menu
Look for wild Alaska Seafood at Taneko Japanese Tavern, P.F. Chang's latest creation - a modern Japanese tavern that blends the nuances of Japanese culture, style and cuisine with the warmth of a great American tavern. Designed after the homey, pub-style dining of a Japanese izakaya, the menu explores the culinary diversity of Japanese cooking.
The menu offers guests an exquisite array of options focusing on natural, organic and seasonal ingredients. Among the highlights are Wild Alaska Black Cod with Mushrooms and Ocean Broth and Wild Alaskan Silver Salmon Saké-Soy Braise, Happo Dashi Scallions.
Partner and Chef Paul Muller has traveled and cooked in Japan where wild Alaska Black Cod is revered as a delicacy for its lush taste and velvety texture.
Seafood For All Seasons: Alaska Seafood Foodservice Promotion and Partnership Guide
ASMI recently updated the Seafood For All Seasons Guide to showcase new promotional materials. This piece informs operators why Alaska Seafood is perfect for all seasons and provides information on how operators can partner with ASMI's foodservice program to make their Alaska Seafood promotions as profitable as they are flavorful.
The Seafood For All Seasons guide highlight's ASMI's available foodservice merchandising materials featuring all-species, Alaska Crab, Whitefish and Salmon posters, tabletents, menu sheets and waitstaff buttons. In addition, the various Alaska Seafood species are harvested at different times throughout the year, so there are ample opportunities to promote Alaska Seafood year-round. Also, look for some of the recent research findings for insight on consumer's preferences. Among the findings: 77 percent of those surveyed said that seeing the Alaska Seafood logo on a menu had a positive effect.
