Summit Awards
The International Summit Awards organization recognized the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) for outstanding work in communication and creativity for their
Wild @ Lunch Recipe Book and "Wild Style, The Alaska Salmon Story" CD ROM.
The Summit Awards were created 12 years ago to further the excellence of the communications industry. The organization recognizes companies and individuals that push the boundaries of the industry. Over 4,000 entrants from more than 50 countries compete annually for these awards. Judges base their decisions on strength of concept, quality of execution, and ability to communicate and persuade.
The Wild @ Lunch Recipe Book received a silver award in the "Business to Business 4/Color Product/Services Brochure" category. This book offers foodservice operators a chance to serve the health-conscious, lighter-fare that many patrons look for at mid-day, without sacrificing flavor or quality. The eight recipes in the book present unique, bold tastes in the familiar form of sandwiches and salads.
The "Wild Style, the Alaska Salmon Story" CD ROM won silver in the "Interactive-Media Education" category. It is a 20-minute interactive learning CD ROM offering web-based training for chefs and waitstaff. Foodservice professionals who utilize the CD can learn how and why Alaska Salmon is caught in the wild, hear why John Ash and other top chefs champion sustainable resources like wild Alaska Salmon, as well as discover the key traits and cooking characteristics of the five species of wild Alaska Salmon. All those who complete the training and online quiz will earn five continuing education hours from the American Culinary Federation.
To order a copy of the Wild @ Lunch Recipe Book or the "Wild Style, The Alaska Salmon Story" for your operation, call 1-800-806-2497 or order online at: www.AlaskaSeafood.org.
