Today Show
A discussion of band member idiosyncrasies occurred in a Today Show interview with Aerosmith's Joe Perry and Joey Kramer. According to the band's chef, Jamie Loretta, AKA "the rock n' roll chef," lead singer Steven Tyler does have a preference when it comes to his pre-show meal. Loretta noted, "Steven Tyler, every single night, has to have a piece of salmon that's wild-caught from Alaska."
Los Angeles Daily News
"Salmon is King" is the title of a recent article by Natalie Haughton, food editor for the Daily News. The article notes that you won't find any salmon farming in California or Alaska and further adds, "Alaska is the model for the world - it is the most regulated state for sustaining wild salmon stocks. It has high yields of harvestable fish because it controls how much fishermen can catch and when."
StarChefs.com
StarChefs.com, an online magazine "for culinary insiders," recently scoped the Los Angeles dining scene to sleuth out the "Rising Star" chefs of the city. In an article titled "Behind the Scenes Look at our Selection of Los Angeles Rising Stars 2006" Antoinette Bruno profiles each Rising Star chef and "The Dishes that Clinched It."
Bruno described "Rising Star" Lee Gross of M Café de Chaya as a chef concerned with promoting healthy eating habits, whose dishes are "not only healthy, they are imaginative and delicious!" With his emphasis on health and flavor it is no surprise that Wild Smoked Salmon Benedict is the dish that cinched the "Rising Star" rating for Gross.
