"Wild Alaska Halibut, What a Catch!" Promotion Materials Available
With the Alaska Halibut season underway, now is the time to capitalize on the "steak of seafood." The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) developed the "Wild Alaska Halibut, What a Catch!" promotion materials to help operators take advantage of the status that wild, sustainable Alaska Seafood can bring to foodservice operations.

The halibut materials feature a fun, bold, vintage design. The package includes waitstaff selling tips, a CD-ROM with 19 Alaska Halibut recipes, menu sheets, tabletents, posters and waitstaff buttons. These promotional materials showcase that Alaska Halibut is wild and that Alaska's cold, clean waters give halibut its pure white lean meat, firm texture and mild-tasting, superior flavor.

The "Wild Alaska Halibut, What A Catch!" promotion is designed to continue educating foodservice operators as well as consumers about the benefits of serving and eating wild, sustainable Alaska Seafood. In addition, the Alaska Halibut recipes help busy foodservice chefs to menu Alaska Halibut without incurring additional recipe development time. From soups and sandwiches to main entrees, the Alaska Halibut recipes fit all market segments from white tablecloth to casual restaurants. Recipes such as Alaska Halibut Won Ton Soup with Kaffir Lime, Baja-laska Halibut Sandwich, Grilled Alaska Halibut over Tuscan Style Bread Salad (Panzanella), Cured Alaska Halibut with Fruity Jicama Salsa, as well as Chili-Rubbed Alaska Halibut Kabobs, are included on the CD-ROM.

These materials are free of charge and foodservice operators can request them by calling ASMI at

Country Kitchen Features "Catch Alaska" Promotion
After the success of last year's promotion, Country Kitchen is running the "Catch Alaska" promotion again this year. From February 13th through April 16th guests will be able to choose from the following "Catch Alaska" menu items: Alaska Cod & Buttermilk Biscuit Breaded Shrimp Dinner, Wild Alaska Salmon Fillet, Alaska Cod Dinner, Alaska Cod Sandwich, Wild Alaska Salmon Burger or Alaskan Eggs Benedict.

The Alaskan Eggs Benedict is a new item added this year. This is the first time Country Kitchen has added a Lenten breakfast item. The Alaskan Egg Benedict has been very successful and a natural fit for Country Kitchen, a breakfast restaurant. According to Country Kitchen's Anne Richards, The Alaskan Egg Benedict is the third best seller out of all the "Alaska Catch" menu items. The Alaska Cod Dinner and the Alaska Cod & Buttermilk Biscuit Breaded Shrimp Dinner are the number one and number two best sellers.

Country Kitchen will also offer a big incentive to its waitstaff. The top seller at each restaurant that has 15% of their guests dining on "Alaska Catch" menu items will be eligible to enter the drawing to win a cruise to Alaska valued at $5,000. Richards notes, "After last year's success it was an easy decision to promote Alaska Seafood again."

The promotion features "Alaska Catch" tabletents, placemats, posters, window clings, menus, and radio advertisements. To Check Out These Materials Click Here!
