Alaska Halibut and Black Cod Harvesting Season Opens March 10th -
ASMI Offers an Array of Support Materials

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) has an array of merchandising materials available to operators looking to promote Alaska Whitefish. From the fun, bold vintage design of the "Wild Alaska Halibut, What A Catch!" promotional materials to the waitstaff tip cards, ASMI aims to help operators drive Alaska Seafood sales. In addition, ASMI's collection also includes the "Whitefish Buyer's Guide" to assist operators in purchasing Alaska Whitefish.

The Alaska Halibut promotional materials are free of charge and the package includes waitstaff selling tips, a CD-ROM with 19 Alaska Halibut recipes, menu sheets, table tents, posters and waitstaff buttons. These promotional materials emphasize that Alaska Halibut is wild and that the cold, clean waters of Alaska give this fish its firm texture and mild-tasting, superior flavor.

ASMI has also added waitstaff tips to their merchandising material offerings. Waitstaff tip cards have been developed for Wild Alaska Black Cod, Crab, Cod & Pollock and Scallops. Each tip card is designed to support your "frontline" in enticing customers to order Alaska Seafood. Flavor and texture profiles, nutritional attributes and benefits, and facts on sustainability all help your servers raise customer awareness about the benefits of wild and abundant Alaska Seafood.

Lastly, the "Alaska Whitefish Buyer's Guide" is an excellent resource for operators looking to offer their customers any of the delicious Alaska Whitefish varieties. The guide features general information on Alaska Whitefish, including availability, harvesting methods and fisheries management practices. It also details the various product forms, packaging, styles and weight of each product by species. In addition, specific terminology is explained in the guide and a nutrition information chart is provided.

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) is partnering with Rockfish Seafood Grill on a "Crab Craze" promotion. Customers can choose between five crab dishes, including an Alaska King Crab entrée, between February 21st and April 8th.
