Black Cod is not just getting noticed in the United States and Japan anymore, in the September issue of the UK's Fresh magazine it was noted that the best black cod comes from Alaska.

Supporting that Alaska Black Cod is a growing trend, the August 2005 issue of Bon Appétit features the following recipe in its entertaining section: "Sautéed Black Cod with Shallot-Lemon Vinaigrette and Fresh Herb Salad". Halibut is one of the suggested alternatives for this recipe.
