From CNN to the LA Times, Wild Versus Farmed Fish is a Hot Subject

"In a world of competing product labels, environmental claims and Marine Stewardship Councilcorporate responsibility, the MSC seal of approval is the only label you can trust when purchasing seafood," said Brendan May, the MSC's Chief Executive. "No lower standard is enough…the MSC label identifies a seafood product which has passed a rigorous, independent, scientific assessment and has been determined to meet a strict environmental standard ensuring it will be around for future generations."

To date, six fisheries have been certified as sustainable under the MSC program including Alaska Salmon, Burry Inlet Cockles, New Zealand Hoki, South West Handline Mackerel, Thames Blackwater Herring and Western Australian Rock Lobster. To learn more about the criteria to become certified as sustainable as well as where to purchase certified products, please log onto the MSC website: www.msc.org.
