Bering Sea Crab Fisheries

As of June 5, the Bering Sea snow crab and king crab fisheries were completed. Fishermen harvested 100 percent of the King crab quota and 99 percent of the Snow crab quota under the new rationalized fishery.

Final crab prices are not available, but preliminary ex-vessel prices range from $4.00 to $5.07 per pound for King crab and $0.60 to $1.00 per pound for Snow crab.

FOB Seattle wholesale prices for king crab and snow crab have decreased since the last bulletin. According to the June 1 Urner-Barry Seafood Price-Current, prices for 9-12 count King crab legs were down 3 percent to $8.45-$8.60 per pound. Wholesale prices of Snow crab also decreased 5 percent to $3.10-$3.15 per pound.
