As of April 17, six weeks into the IFQ season, statewide halibut landings total 7.8 million pounds (15 percent of allocation) and sablefish landings total 4.6 million pounds (13 percent of allocation). At this point in the season most landings are from Eastern Gulf areas. Halibut landings from area 2C and 3A account for 92 percent of the halibut harvest to date and sablefish landings from SE, WY and CG account for 86 percent of the sablefish harvest.
