Duties and Responsibilities for ASMI's
Office Manager / Administrative Technician

Receptionist: Open/close office daily (dependability and punctuality required); handle incoming telephone calls and visitors; responsible for mail, on-line industry and trade requests, overnight shipping and deliveries; maintain office cleanliness in common areas (lobby, conference rooms, workroom, storage and kitchen).

Office Manager: Responsible for equipment/supply purchases and maintenance; primary contact with building management and vendors; primary contact with IT contractor.

Administrative Assistant:

  • Program support – Field questions about ASMI’s retail, foodservice and international programs and handle basic literature or information requests. Requires excellent customer service skills and follow-through.
  • Literature/Fulfillment Management – Monitor literature inventory at fulfillment center and conduct solicitations for literature reprints. Maintain literature inventory in Seattle office. Handle most artwork and photo library requests.
  • Administrative/Secretarial Support – Offers secretarial support to retail, foodservice and international marketing programs as needed; point person to Executive Director when in Seattle (headquarters in Juneau, AK). Assists and facilitates meeting preparation for seafood industry committee meetings.

Position requires excellent customer service/people skills as well as PC proficiency including MS Office Suite and experience with general office equipment (phone, fax, mail systems, etc.). Good organizational skills, the ability to work independently and adapt to changes are required.
